Between the 12th and 13th June 2018, the Region of Murcia, home to Aqubix's Spanish branch, held a digital week event - The XII edition of the AOTEC Technology Fair at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium and Congress Center. It consisted of many workshops dedicated to exchanging knowledge on entrepreneurship and digital transformation.
Rubén V. Caravaca López, Software Engineer at Aqubix Spain
and technical secretary of the Official College of Telecommunications Technical
Engineers in the Region of Murcia (COITTRM) was invited to participate in this
event. Rubén stressed that "for the progress of a community there are
three important pillars, education, information and local economy," in
reference to the activity of local telecommunications operators. He also
highlighted the progress being made in Spain in the technology sector with
Smart cities, the Internet of Things, the advance of 5G or robotics and all
aspects present in this fair.
Rubén also presented one of the workshops: "IOT in the
open. Initiation into the ecosystem", in which he was able to take a quick
tour of the current state of the IoT, in addition to pointing out the problem
that hinders this sector by the lack of standards. He showcased a small project
Aqubix worked on last year - a dashboard in real time for IoT. He demonstrated
how a temperature sensor can read and yield results, in real time. At the end
of the workshop, Rubén thanked Daniel Ruiz Sanchez, Director of Aqubix Spain,
for providing technical support throughout workshop by ceding its .net API to
make a prototype Smart city platform.
